This first press oil has a fruity scent and exquisite taste. We use only mechanical means and best-quality olives from the Croatian Adriatic coast, region Istria. Rich in antioxidants and with strong anti-inflammatory properties, this cold-pressed olive oil supports your healthy lifestyle. Figura – Ultimate Elixir Extra Virgin Olive Oil contains a range of beneficial mono – unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and K which may reduce risk for chronic disease in an increasingly health conscious world where people want to live longer.
Figura olive oil has a polyphenol content of over 450 mg/kg as measured at the time of harvest – just to compare in an average bottle at your local supermarket is around 55 mg/kg
This oil pairs perfectly with mixed vegetable salads, boiled and fried eggs, omelette, mushroom soups, grilled fish, grilled tuna, red meat and various cheeses. We recommend it with all types of pasta and risotto. According to tradition, new oil best is served with warm, homemade bread – dipping, but may also be served with any type of bruschetta and focaccia.
We also highly reccomend to take 1 teaspoon of our Figura Ultimate Elixir oil in the morning, with just a dash of lemon juice. The lemon is added to make the oil more palatable and also give a boost to the digestive system.
Although olive oil is best eaten raw, we very often get the following question
Should olive oil be heated or expose it to very high temperature?
Extra virgin olive oil is the most stable oil to cook with and can be heated as high as 205C / 400℉ (deep frying occurs at 170C – 190C / 350-375℉). Even when heated past its smoke point, virgin olive oils produce low levels of harmful compounds due to the high antioxidant content in the oil.
It undergoes no substantial structural change and keeps its nutritional value better than other oils, not only because of the antioxidants but also due to its high levels of oleic acid.” – International Olive Council
